Food Safety Symposium 2026

To mark World Food Safety Day 2026, Food Security for Peace and Nutrition Africa as part of the HealthyDiets4Africa, will be taking part in 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 2026 co-organised by other three EU-funded food systems research projects, FoodSafety4Africa, FCI4Africa, and the Uprise Food Safety Project, tomorrow on 8 July 2026, from 11:00 to 13:35 GMT+1.

Under the theme “From Burden to Solutions – Safe Food Everywhere,” the symposium will bring together progress, knowledge, and practical solutions from across the participating projects, while exploring how research and innovation is helping address food safety challenges and contribute to safer food systems across Africa

We are excited to have Lilian Bitok, CEO of Epique Foods Limited and winner of the HD4A Agribusiness Agri-innovator Challenge 2023, taking part in the discussions as a speaker, sharing how her solar dryer innovation is helping her tackle food safety concerns, increase processing capacity and meet demand for her gluten-free products.
